(Editors note: there will not be a weekly links blog this week, but we will be doing “Five Questions With…” on Friday.)
Last week we blogged about how adding a new shower curtain was an easy way to make your bathroom feel new without doing a complete remodel. This week we are bringing you a few other ideas for accessorizing your bathroom at a minimal cost.
Idea number one comes from Softsoap. Their new Ensembles line provides four distinct soap dispensers, all designed to add a little touch of style to your sink area. I like the deep blue of the Exotic Orchid dispenser (seen above), but if you like softer tones, the other three dispensers (seen below) might be better suited for your tastes. Each dispenser is $2.99, while the pump that you’ll need to make it functional is $5.99. They were made available in March at most major grocery store chains.

If you’re a little more daring, but still budget conscious, you might want to consider Toilet Tattoos, which are about $10 each. Unlike actual tattoos, this product is far from permanent; think of it as easy-to-remove sticker for the top of your toilet seat (for the full explanation, go here). Toilet Tattoos certainly do not lack options, although our favorite options exist in the classic and wallpaper categories (like the “hot stripes” selection to the left). Use the seasonal tattoos at your own risk. I understand the gesture the photo below is making, but the idea that there might be a present in the toilet bowl is a little gross (albeit sort-of funny). You can also customize your Toilet Tattoo, which is a good thing, since currently they don’t offer tattoo staples like a soaring eagle, a skull and crossbones, and of course, a “mom” tattoo.
