Bathonista Weekly Web Links: May 11

Ski Bathroom

Each week on the Bathonista Blog, we’ll feature some bathroom-related links from around the Web. If you have any links you’d like to submit, just send an email to
editor@ibaths.com with “Weekly Links” in the headline.

1. There’s an episode of Jackass where Steve-O (now of Dancing with the Stars fame) skis down a hill in a port-a-potty with two snowboards attached to it (for anyone interested in seeing this clip, search “crapper sled”). I’m not sure if this bathroom (pictured above) was inspired by that skit, but in any case, it seems like a much more reasonable way for someone to feel like they are participating in a snow sport while sitting on a toilet. 2. This Wall Street Journal article by Amy Hoak about trends in kitchen and bath spending features a quote from my co-worker, Kitchens.com editor-in-chief Kim Sweet. Unfortunately, a sketched headshot of Kim was not included in the article.

3. This glam, 1930’s bathroom features plenty of pink and black. The recessed shelving and black pedestal sink could certainly add some function and style to many 21st century bathrooms I’ve seen (including my own). Not pictured: prohibition-era bathtub for brewing gin.

Purple Mosaic Bathroom
4. Trendir features a series of mosaic-centric and colorful bath designs from Delpha (pictured above).

Shoe Bathtub5. Finally, a high heel that is not only comfortable, but relaxing and serene. I do admire the tile work, but let’s be honest, the next time you see this will be at (a) one of those hotels with themed rooms (b) a Beyonce video (it’ll be like the sequel to the "Naughty Girl" video) (c) the second Sex and the City movie (d) all of the above.
