Whirlpools and Air Baths

Unlike the majority of bathtubs, whirlpools come in a variety of shapes and depths.

Unlike standard tubs, whirlpools and air baths are commonly found in an array of shapes, and are widely available in lengths greater than 60 inches. Also, many units are made to drop into a surrounding platform. The most popular shapes are:

• Rectangle: If you only have room for a traditional-size bathtub, but want the extra amenities of a whirlpool or air bath, this is probably the shape you’ll want. You can find these in lengths from 60 inches up to 72 inches; the latter can accommodate two people.

• Oval: Oval-shaped whirlpools and air baths come in similar lengths and widths as rectangular tubs, but they usually don’t have finished sides, so you’ll need to place them in a tub surround

• Corner: These units are meant to be placed flush against a corner. They resemble a triangle, and offer more width and lounging room than rectangular or oval shaped units.

• Circular: Circular whirlpools and air baths are usually made for at least two people and often times they will have an integrated seat within the tub.

Square: These units typically provide the most cubic inches. They can fit into corners, alcoves or stand on their own.

• Heart: Probably the least common model among the bunch, heart-shaped units are usually found in the honeymoon suite of a hotel, but they are available for purchase in your home as well.
