Ideas for Selecting Bathroom Counters

granite countertop

Find the right balance of beauty and durability for your family's bathroom countertop.

Your choices for bathroom countertops aren’t much different than for kitchen countertops. However, you can think about them differently: First, countertops cover less surface area in the bathroom than in the kitchen.

Second, the bathroom is a more private room than the kitchen, so the counter is less prominently displayed. Take advantage of the freedom this affords you. If you’ve ever craved an expensive or exotic countertop material like marble or glass, but never had the budget or audacity to green light it for the kitchen, the bathroom can be a great place to indulge.

Although bathroom counters experience some wear and tear, they don’t need to stand up to as much punishment as they would in the kitchen. Sure, you might accidentally drop a hair dryer on them, but you won’t be setting hot pans or rolling dough on them. Still, if you or your family are prone to making messes while washing up and brushing teeth, you might want to make ease of cleaning a priority for your new countertop.

If after you’ve reviewed all your options in the following pages you still can’t come to a decision, then visit our sinks section for some ideas that are countertop free.
